Beginners 

There are a few staples that we would deal with first which cover:

• basic right hand and left hand technique
• posture
• basic chord vocabulary
• notes on the fretboard
• introduction to notes, rhythms, and tablature

From there, I try to get students playing the music of their choice, though guitar based music is always ideal. I will also suggest songs that the student will enjoy from a variety of eras, but tick many of the boxes of building good technique and rhythmic sense.

For Intermediate:

These are students of all ages who have been playing a while, but are looking to advance their abilities but need help in how to go about that.  I aim to present different paths relevant to the students musical interests that meet them where they are at.  Topics can range from:

• Soloing over chord changes in styles they are interested in
• reading music
• learning more advanced songs in a more precise way
• advanced playing techniques
• introduction to chord types and construction
• intro to chord voicing techniques
• practice strategies
